David G. Fenton
David G. Fenton, 83, of Waynesburg Rd., Carrollton, died unexpectedly Thursday afternoon, Sept. 6, 2012, in Mercy Medical Center in Canton.
Born Jan. 2, 1929, in Erie, PA, he was a son of the late George and Anna Glatz Fenton.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was a retired draftsman for Redicon Corp. of Canton. He was an avid collector of antiques, trains and stamps and loved to work in his garden.
He is survived by his wife, the former Doris Hamilton, whom he married Aug. 4, 1956; two sons, Perry (Lorraine) Fenton of Mechanicstown and Dennis (Lorrie) Fenton of Carrollton; two daughters, Barbara (Tom) Gambone of Lake Habasu, AZ, and Karen (Samuel) Pritchard of Gilbert, AZ; 11 grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a brother, Roger Fenton of Erie, PA.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim; a brother, Rex; and a sister, Ellen.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 11 at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Alan Hill officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW, American Legion, and DAV. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. |
