Margie L.  Scott

Margie L.  ScottMargie L.  Scott, age 81, of 60 N. Church Street, Sherrodsville, went to be with the Lord Saturday afternoon, Aug. 1, 2009, in Union Hospital at Dover.

Born Dec. 3, 1927, in Carrollton, she was the daughter of the late John C. and Mary Elizabeth Henry Albright.

She retired in 1984 as a postal clerk for the Sherrodsville Post Office where she worked for more than 20 years. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church at Sherrodsville and the United Methodist Women of the church.  She was a former member of the Sherrodsville Pythian Sisters and was a 1945 graduate of the former Sherrodsville High School.  Margie loved to spend her spare time reading.

She is survived by her husband, Douglas A. Scott, Sr., whom she married Aug. 22, 1947; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Debra) Hawthorne of Mineral City; a son Doug  (Tammie) Scott, Jr. of Sherrodsville, three grandchildren, Zachary (Pamela) Hawthorne of Mineral City, Mrs. Scott  (April) Bonvechio of Dover, and Tessa Scott of Lawrence, PA, and two great-grandchildren, Allie Bonvechio and Alexander Bonvechio, both of Dover.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patricia Ball and Darletta "Dottie" Richardson and a granddaughter Mary Elizabeth Hawthorne.

A memorial service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2009, in Calvary United Methodist Church with Rev. Clark Hogue III officiating. Interment of her ashes will occur at a later date in the Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. There are no calling hours scheduled.
