Helen T. Scott

Helen T. ScottHelen T. Scott, 91, of Jewett died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at her home with her daughter and caregivers by her side.

Born Dec. 12, 1918, in German Twp., Harrison Co., she was a daughter of the late Steve and Anna Murral.

Helen was a 1937 graduate of Cadiz High School. She was an elder and a deacon at the Jewett Presbyterian Church where she was a past treasurer of the Friendly Class and a member of the Presbyterian Woman. She was a member of the Scio Chapter #316, Order of the Eastern Star where she was a past matron and was also a past Deputy Grand Matron of the Chapter of Ohio. She was a 30-year employee of the Scio Pottery. Helen took pride in gardening and was also an excellent baker and cook.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Miser and son-in-law George of Carrollton; grandchildren, Karen and Scott Wade of Louisville, George S. Miser of Carrollton and Susan and Terry Verble of North Canton, and great grandchildren, Sarah and Anna Wade, Alex Miser and Ben and Sam Verble.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles A. Scott; sisters, Mary Kierston, Pearl Miller, Catherine Zitko and Youstina Waszil and brothers, Sam and Charles Murral.

Funeral services were conducted July 16 in Koch Funeral Home, Scio with Rev. James Stark officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery in Jewett. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Carroll Co. 1040 Trump Rd. Carrollton, 44615 or Jewett Volunteer Fire Dept., P.O. Box 183, Jewett, 43986.
