Paul E. "Skip" Skipper

Paul E. "Skip" Skipper, age 88, of Jewett passed away Saturday July 13, 2013, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 25, 1924, in Wheeling, WV, he was a son of the late Howard G. Skipper and Floris I. Busby Skipper.

A 1943 graduate of Jewett High School, he joined the Army Reserves in 1949, serving for five years. Skip was an over-the-road semi-truck driver for several trucking companies in the valley retiring in 1982. He also owned and operated a farm.

Skip was a member of the Jewett VFD and Teamsters Local 428 where he had served as president of the Teamsters Retirees. He enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and spending time with his family.

Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years Frances E. Foit Skipper whom he married Feb. 4, 1950; children, William J. (Tutti) Skipper of Carrollton, James D. Skipper of Jewett (companion Diane Dalesio of Follansbee), and Barbara (Tom) Horn of Jewett; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Howard Skipper.

Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 p.m. at Koch Funeral Home, Scio where services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Hester Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Jewett.
