Charles R. Clark
Charles R. Clark, 81, of Minerva, passed away in Cleveland Clinic, early Sunday morning, July 12, 2009, after a sudden illness.
Born Dec. 20, 1927, in Salineville, he was a son of Charles and Blanche (Burnip) Clark. Charles proudly served his country in the US Navy before becoming employed by Columbia Gas of Ohio from which he retired after 35 years of service. He was a 57-year member of the Minerva American Legion Post #357 and attended Minerva United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Geraldine (Palmer) Clark, who he married Dec. 28, 2002; son, Randy (Delores) Clark of Akron; daughters, Sally (John) Savona of Minerva and Jody (Steve) Becher of Dellroy; stepsons, Steve (Diane) Clark and Carey (Debbie) Clark of Minerva; one sister, Beverly Thompson and brother, Bob (Gladys) Clark, both of Salineville; special cousins, Betty (Richard) Brown of Alliance and Tom (Lois) Clark of Bergholz; seven grandchildren; five step grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and seven step great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his first wife of 53 years, Pauline (Wolf) Clark who died in 2001, and a brother James Clark.
Funeral services were held July 15 in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Rev. Allen Hill officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Liberty Cemetery.
