Mildred (Millie) Reiboldt

Mildred (Millie) Reiboldt passed away May 29, 2010, of congestive heart failure at Shepherd of the Valley Retirement Home in Warren.

Born March 4, 1916, in Stark County, she was the only child of Franklin and Lucy (Bowman) Houtz. 

She was raised in Canton and was a graduate of Canton McKinley High School and Heidelburg College where she obtained her teaching degree. She married Roger Reiboldt on Sept. 29, 1940.

Mildred was a member of Leesville United Methodist Church, Conotton Valley Garden Club and Sherrodsville Grange. A homemaker much of her life, she taught school part time and served as Town Clerk of Leesville. She lived on a farm in Carroll County while raising her children, then in Leesville before making her home with her daughter Margaret near Bowerston. In 2009, she moved to Shepherd of the Valley to be near her daughter, Carolyn. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing the piano.

She is survived by her daughters, Margaret (Wayne) Gray of Bowerston, Carolyn (John) Halchuck of Warren, and her daughter-in-law Patricia Reiboldt; 10 grandchildren Willy, Jamey, Steven, and Aaron Gray, Pamela Bobersky, Tim Halchuck, Debi Nance and David, Michael and Joshua Reiboldt; and 13 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband on Aug. 5, 1993; her son, Roger David Reiboldt and an infant great grandson.

Funeral services were held June 2 at Arnold Funeral Home in Hartville with Pastor Jerralyn Myers officiating.   Interment was at Mount Peace Cemetery in Hartville.
