Raymond Ault McLaughlin

Raymond Ault McLaughlin, age 99, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in Carroll Golden Age Retreat following an extended illness.

Born Dec. 29, 1911, in Fox Twp., he was a son of the late William John "Turkey Bill" McLaughlin and Sara "Sadie" Ann Wiggins McLaughlin.

He graduated from Carrollton High School and was a life member of United Presbyterian Church where he was an elder and trustee.  He was a member of the Pelican Club, enjoyed woodworking and was an avid gardener.

He is survived by a daughter, Janet Brooks of Carrollton; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Bryan) Taylor of Cabot, AK, Chris (Sherry) Brooks of Carrollton and Sara Jane (James) Warrington of Canton; and seven great grandchildren, Sarah Elizabeth Hockenberry, Jenna Lee Brooks, Jenna Renee Warrington, Jacqlin Christine Warrington, Nicholas Richard Brooks, Austin Earl Warrington and Natalie Marie Brooks.

He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Marjorie June Russell, whom he married Oct. 4, 1938, and who passed away April 8, 2001; four brothers, John, Harold, Loren and Ellis McLaughlin and a sister, Garnett Hardgrove.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 28 at noon in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor David Krankovitch officiating.  Burial will be in Westview Cemetery.  Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
