Robert C. Onstott

Robert C. Onstott, 66, of South Windsor, CT, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 13, 2009, at Manchester Memorial Hospital with his loving family by his side. 

Born Feb. 28, 1943, in Washington, PA, he was the son of the late Charles and Gertrude (Andrews) Onstott. 

He spent his professional career as a draftsman and carpenter and was known as a true craftsman.  He spent many years coaching youth baseball and football for the town leagues in East Hartford.  He loved fishing, bowling, and reading and was a diehard Red Sox and CT Huskies fan.  His favorite past time was spending time with his family and he adored his grandchildren.

He was the beloved husband for 37 years of Mary (Hayes) Onstott, who survives, along five children and their spouses, Rick and Dawn Onstott of Bolton, CT, Joe and Brenda Binimelis of Vernon, CT, Tammy and Shane Cornish of South Windsor, CT, Robert and Teresa Onstott of WY, and Sherry and Paul White of UT; 12 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren a brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Kay Onstott of Dellroy, OH. and many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law. 

A celebration of his life was held Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Newkirk and Whitney Funeral Home in East Hartford, CT.  Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.  In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name may be made to the American Diabetes Association, P.O.
