Lois Ann (Ray) Nape

Lois Ann (Ray) NapeLois Ann (Ray) Nape, age 77, of Columbus, passed away in her home April 29, 2011.

Lois was born in Carrollton, Ohio in 1933, a daughter of Merle E. Ray and Peachie F. (Moyer) Russell.

After graduating from Carrollton High School as Valedictorian, she married William F. Nape, also of Carrollton. She helped support him through his college years as he graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1956. She journeyed alongside him and their three children, Sharon, Jeffrey, and Karen, through his career with the U.S.D.A. in West Virginia, Illinois, South Carolina, New York, New Jersey, and Ohio.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, genealogy, piano, guitar, traveling, and reading. She was a member of East Columbus Christian Church.
Lois is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. William F. Nape. They had been married just short of 58 years.

She is survived by their three children, Sharon (Oran) Scarberry, Jeffrey Lynn Nape, and Karen (Charles) Castle; one granddaughter, Krystal (John) Longest; two great grandchildren, Aubrie Elyse and John Charles IV, all living in the Columbus area.

Lois is now back in the arms of her husband together celebrating the Lord. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. with Rev. Andrew Hoover, Celebrant. where family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday. Interment will be in Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
