Dward Dunn (Ed/Dean) Boyce
Dward Dunn (Ed/Dean) Boyce, age 82, of Carrollton passed away in his residence Thursday, March 26, 2009, with his family by his side.
Born April 5, 1926, in Richwood, WV., he was the son of the late William C. and Letha (Spencer) Boyce.
He was an Army veteran of WWII. He retired from Republic Steel after 38 years of service. He attended Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville. He moved from Canton to Carrollton in December 1994, was a trap shooter, enjoyed gardening and cooking and was an avid hunter.
He is survived by his wife the former Kathleen A. Zimmer, whom he married Nov. 19. 1989; three sons, John (Dorothea) Boyce of Carrollton, Myron (Danielle) Nelson of Maryland and Christopher (Wendy) Nelson of Chillicothe; a daughter, Melissa (Steven) Phillips of Carrollton; one brother, Desil (Cora) Boyce of Canton; 20 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Myrlene; a son, Clinton C. Boyce; four brothers; five sisters and one grandson, Kyle Phillips.
Funeral services were held March 30 at Church Memorial Church in Robertsville with Pastor Jeff Lord officiating. Burial followed in Sunset Hills Cemetery in Canton with full military honors by VFW, DAV and American Legion. The family expresses their thanks to Carroll County Visiting Nurses and Tuscarawas County Hospice for their care of Dward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ Memorial Church in Robertsville.
