Robert K. Newbold
Robert K. Newbold of Millersport, OH, passed away March 6, 2012, at age 80.
A 1949 graduate of Carrollton High School, he attended The Ohio State University in Mechanical Engineering. He dedicated his life to a career in public service as a civil engineer. As Superintendent of the City of Columbus Construction Division, he was awarded the Golden Knight and Silver Knight awards by the National Management Association. After retirement from the City of Columbus, he served as construction consultant to the City of New Albany, OH.
He is survived by two brothers, Basil Newbold Jr. (Edith) and Harold Newbold (Sandy), both of Mechanicstown; two sons, Robert K. Newbold Jr. (Doris), of Hebron, OH, and Garold L. Newbold (Cynthia), of Pataskala, OH; along with an army of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins of whom he was immensely proud.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen (Shepherd) Newbold and Basil Newbold of Mechanicstown, OH.
A graveside memorial service will be held March 17 at 11 a.m. at Corinth Presbyterian Church, 7004 Salineville Rd., Mechanicstown. He will be laid to rest beside his parents. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the church or charity of your choice.
