William E. Grogg

William E. Grogg, age 85, of Minerva died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, in Alliance Community Hospital.

Born June 25, 1924, in Waynesburg, he was a son to Edward and Dora (Leyda) Grogg.

He retired from PCC as a furnace operator where he worked for 29 years. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and a life member of the Minerva VFW Post #4120.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie (Unkefer) Grogg who he married May 21, 1966; a daughter, Cathy Rhodes of Minerva; stepdaughter, Vickie Frank of Canton; three sons, Charles (Tara) Grogg of Newark, Ed (Janet) Grogg of East Rochester, and Fred Grogg of Minerva; a sister, Dorothy Lucas of Minerva; a brother Robert Grogg of Minerva; 18 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by daughters, Karla Grogg, Karen Arnold; sons, William and Christopher Grogg, and brothers, John and Kenneth Grogg.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held at a later date in Liberty Cemetery with full military honors. Arrangements by Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home.
