Nancy May Bell-Allensworth

Nancy May Bell AllensworthNancy May Bell-Allensworth, 92, of Walnut Hills Retirement Home, Walnut Creek, died Feb. 8, 2013.

Born May 1, 1920, in Burkburnett, TX, she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Ethel Bailey-Bell.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Carrollton, Order of Eastern Star #315 and a charter member of the Atwood Yacht Club. She graduated from Jewett High School and attended Elliot and Steubenville Business Colleges.

She is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Allensworth of Amsterdam; a nephew, Charles (Cindy) Allensworth of Clawson, MI; and nieces, Carla (David) Noll, Galena, OH, and Margot (George) Olson, Blowing Rock, NC.  

At an early age her parents were deceased, and she then made her home with her Uncle and Aunt, William and Emma-Crabb-Bell of Jewett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Allensworth, whom she married July 22, 1946, and who passed away June 24, 1997; and their only son, Jon Lee, in 1972.

Services will be conducted Thursday, Feb. 14 at noon by Rev. Dan Loomis in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Ft. Steuben Burial Estates in Wintersville.
