Golda "Beulah" McFarland

Golda "Beulah" McFarlandGolda "Beulah" McFarland, 95, passed away Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, 2010, in Crandall Medical Center following an extended illness.

Born May 30, 1914, in Carroll County, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Maude Cassidy McConnell.

She resided in Carrollton until November 2009 when she moved to Crandall Medical Center in Sebring.

She was a retired legal secretary for Carrollton Schools, Carroll County Probate Court and the Carroll County Prosecutor.  She was a member of United Presbyterian Church in Carrollton, Harsh Memorial Church in Harlem Springs, a founding member of the Friendship Center in Carrollton, Carroll Co. Council on Aging, Harcatus Board, Washington Twp. Homemakers, and vice president of Area 9 Ohio Council on Aging Advisory Board.

She is survived by a son, Glenn (Joyce) McFarland of Bonita Springs, FL; a son-in-law, Thomas Cummings of Carrollton; seven grandchildren, Rick (DeDe) Cummings, Treva (Charles) Cline, Rhonda (Larry) Cogan, Pam (Lyle) Blosser, Peggy (George) Coon, Charlene (Dave) Price and Darlene King; 13 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; a daughter, Mary Faye Cummings; three sisters, Dorothy Truesdale, Viola Miller and Mary Favri; a daughter-in-law, Mary Jane McFarland; and an infant brother and sister.

Funeral services were held Feb. 7 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton with Rev. John Brownsberger officiating.  Burial was in Harlem Springs Cemetery.  Memorial donations may be made to Carroll County Friendship Center, PO Box 14, Carrollton, 44615.
