John O. Gotshall

John O. Gotshall, 86, of Carrollton passed away early Wednesday morning Jan. 30, 2013, in Canton.

Born May 20, 1926, in Jewett, he was a son of the late Paul and Daisey Kirby Gotshall.

John was a retired lineman working at Timken and was a school bus driver for Carrollton Exempted Village Schools. He was a Harrison Township Trustee, member of the Farm Bureau, and a 4H Advisor in Carroll County.

He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Sprowls, whom he married Nov. 1, 1950; a son, Roy Gotshall of Jewett; a daughter, Jane Gotshall of Carrollton; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; a sister, Frances Skeeles of Georgia; and a brother, Paul Edward Gotshall of Jewett.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, June Woods.

Funeral services will be Monday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Dan Loomis officiating.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery near Jewett. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in the funeral home.
