Samuel F. Monk Jr.

Samuel F. Monk Jr., age 76, of Minerva died Saturday Jan. 16, 2010, in Mercy Medical Center.

Born May 10, 1933, in Dogtown, he was a son of Samuel and Mary Bertha (Spencer) Monk Sr. He was a self-employed truck driver for 50 years. He was a member of Minerva First Christian Church, Minerva Eagles Aerie #2199, Coon Hunters Club, Teamsters local #92 and a member of Carroll Hills Council.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Marsha (Schroll) Monk whom he married Feb. 10, 1973; son, Samuel Monk III of Minerva; four sisters, Mildred Ruth (George) Masich of St. Cloud, FL, Deloris Jeanne (Bert) Przybylski of South Bend, IN, Ruby Joanne McCray and Donna Louetta Myers, both of New Franklin, and a brother Charles (Velma) Monk of Carrollton.
He is preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Monk; a sister, Joy Fern Elton and a brother, Robert Monk.

Funeral services were held Jan. 29 in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva with Mr. Ralph Norman officiating. Burial was in Heritage Memorial Gardens.
