Anna (Blanchard) Ayers
Anna (Blanchard) Ayers, age 88, of Alliance died Saturday Dec. 26, 2009, in Alliance Community Hospital.
Born July 17, 1921, in Freeburg, she was a daughter of the late Lee and Alta (Grise) Blanchard. She retired from the Great Trail Golf Course in Minerva where she was a cook and waitress. She had also co-owned the Nat'l Variety Store in Minerva and was a member of Minerva Nazarene Church. She graduated from Louisville High School in 1939.
She is survived by a daughter, Tammy Gruber of Louisville; three sons, Lawrence (Rita) Gorman of Alliance, Dennis (Barbara) Gorman of Alliance, and Steven Ayers of Salem; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Gorman who died in 1945; her second husband, Hansford Ayers who died in 2003; three sisters, Pauline Miller, Ethel Lautzenheiser and Edna Anthony; two brothers, Harold and Howard Blanchard and a granddaughter, Christina Gorman.
Funeral services were held in Freeburg Church of the Brethren Dec. 29 with Rev. John McGuckin officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Arrangements by the Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. |
