Beverley I. "Bev" Pearch
Beverley I. "Bev" Pearch, age 85, of 116 N. Church St., Sherrodsville, died Friday evening, Dec. 6, 2013, in Aultman Hospital in Canton following a period of declining health.
Born Dec. 5, 1928, in Roswell, she was the daughter of the late George E. and Mary Byers Beans.
She retired in 1990 after 22 years service as a custodian for Conotton Valley Schools at the former Sherrodsville Elementary School, where she also worked as an assistant cook.
She was a faithful member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Sherrodsville where she served as a board member and on a number of various committees. She was actively serving as co-chairperson of the Conotton Valley Share-A-Christmas program. Bev was a 1946 graduate of New Philadelphia High School and a former member of Sherrodsville Pythian Sisters. She formerly served as a volunteer at Carroll Hills School in Carrollton where the Carroll Hills Council named her Outstanding Volunteer of the Year for the MRDD in 1993. Everyone who knew Beverley knew she was a faithful fan of the Cleveland Indians. Her presence will be missed by her family and many friends.
She is survived by her husband, Robert R. "Bob" Pearch, whom she married Oct. 15, 1950; two daughters, Nancy Pearch of New Philadelphia and Janet Pearch, of Sherrodsville; two brothers, Marvin (Margaret "Boots") Beans and Cleston (Rosemary) Beans, both of New Philadelphia; her "special grandchildren," Paula "P. J." Imes and Cory Imes, both of Sherrodsville; a sister-in-law, Leah Riley of Flushing, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Zelma Bair and infant Yvonne Beans.
Funeral services will be conducted Dec. 10 at 11 a.m. in Baxter-Gardner Funeral Home in Sherrodsville with Pastor Kenneth D. Ogg officiating. Interment will follow in Sherrodsville Memorial Gardens. Calling hours will be held Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the funeral home. At Beverley's request, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, P. O.
