Harry W. Berry

Harry W. Berry, Sr., age 91, of Carrollton passed away Wednesday, Nov. 7, 2012, at his residence.

Born July 10, 1921, in Pleasant Grove, OH, he was a son of the late Floyd and Evelyn (Donley) Berry.

He liked fishing, hunting and working puzzle books.  He worked at Scio Pottery and retired from Republic Steel in Canton.

He is survived by three daughters, Elizabeth Marie (Kenny) Leggett and Linda L. Brown, both of Carrollton, and Martha Householder of Walnut, IL; a son, Harry W. (Lori) Berry, Jr. of Mingo Junction; a sister, Clyda Yates of Cleveland; 11 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia L. (Post) Berry whom he married June 9, 1946, and who passed away May 5, 2011; seven brothers, Bill, Lester, Ralph, Francis, Glenn, Raymond and Paul; three sisters, Virginia Carpenter, Hazel Weir, and Doris Marteney; a son-in-law, John K. Brown and three great grandchildren.

The family would like to send a special thank you to Community Hospice of Carroll County "for the continuous care of our father and for all the personnel who took care of him; we love all of you dearly."  They would also like to give special thanks to Curtis Cotton of the funeral home, and Dr. Haas and Dr. W. Scott Stine for their help in taking care of their father.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13 at 1 p.m. in Perrysville Cemetery where burial and interment will take place with Pastor Kimberly Arbaugh officiating.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Harry's name to Community Hospice of Carroll County.
