Virginia Mae Schissler

Virginia Mae Schissler, 88, of Carrollton died early Monday morning Oct. 26, 2009, in Carroll Healthcare Center following an extended illness.

Born Oct. 3, 1921, in Sistersville, WV, she was a daughter of the late Okey and Goldie Tippeus Richeson.

She attended Carrollton First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by one grandson, John (Donna) of Carrollton; two granddaughters, Janet (Clint) of Carrollton and Jill (Laura) of Akron; four great grandchildren, Kenny, Chris, Shelly and Michael; three great great grandchildren, Haleigh, Makayla, and Riley; one daughter-in-law, Sally Schissler of Carrollton and one son-in-law, Glen Fackler of Garrettsville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence "Bud" Schissler, whom she married Oct. 4, 1937; two sons, James and Eddie Schissler; a brother, Earl Richeson and two sisters, Olive Judge and Eleanor Fackler.

Funeral services will be held Thursday Oct. 29, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Carrollton.  Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
