June A. Downard

June A. Downard, age 90 of Minerva, passed away Friday, Sept. 18, 2009, in Altercare of Noble Ponds.

Born June 9, 1919, in Sandy Township, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha (Haidet) Duerr.

June retired from Canton Local Schools where she had worked in the cafeteria at Prairie College Elementary School. She was a member of North Industry Christian Church and attended Harsh Bible Church in Carrollton.

She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mehl Young of Bolivar; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mahlon and Sharon Downard of East Sparta, Keith and Andrea Downard of Minerva; six grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Warren Downard in 1998; two brothers and one sister.

Funeral services were held Sept. 22 in Kreighbaum-Sanders Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Gilreath officiating.  Interment was in Sunset Hills Burial Park.   Memorial donations in June's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.
