Virginia Shulenberger

Virginia Shulenberger, age 86, of Minerva died Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011, at home surrounded by her family.

Norn Oct. 19, 1924, in Paris, she was a daughter of Wilbur and Emma (Tressler) Dourm.

She graduated from Minerva High School in 1943 as valedictorian. She was a homemaker and member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by three daughters, Cheryl (Randy) Grimes of Carrollton, Susan (Jim) Swain and Judy Lippman, both of Minerva; a son, Lynn (Chrystle) Shulenberger of Minerva; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Shulenberger who died in 2003; a sister, Lucille Fascenmeyer and a brother, Duane Dourm Sr.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 31 at 11 a.m. in Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Thomas and Rev. Dave Sperry officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Cemetery. Calling hours will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva and one hour prior to services at the church.
