Carrie Mae Patton
Carrie Mae Patton, 90, of Carrollton, died early Saturday morning Aug. 15, 2009, in Carroll Golden Age Retreat.
Born May 22, 1919, in Cadiz, she was a daughter of the late James Harvey and Mary Edith Stephens Mattern.
Carrie attended the Carrollton Wesley Community Chapel and was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Beryl Patton of Kilgore; two sisters, Pearl Shawver of Carrollton and Elaine Moyer of Columbus; four granddaughters; seven great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a cousin, Margaret Avon.
She was preceded in death, Oct. 21, 1975, by her husband of 36 years, Albert R. "Pat" Patton, whom she married Sept. 2, 1939; a daughter, Ellen Anders who died in 1973; two brothers, Lloyd and Donald Mattern; and three sisters, Fay Reigle, Maxine Ferrel, and Jessie Newberry.
Funeral services were held Aug. 19, 2009, in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton with Rev. Gordon Warner officiating. Burial was in the Kilgore Cemetery.
