Helen Virginia Ritchey

Helen Virginia Ritchey, age 89, of Malvern passed away at 7:09 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, in her residence.

Born Nov. 11, 1921, in Hancock, MD, she was a daughter of the George Blaine and Nancy Rachel (Mitchell) Bishop.

She was a homemaker and a Protestant by faith.  She was a member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW #3301.

She is survived by her stepson, Robert (Joanne) Howsare of Bedford, PA; four daughters, Nancy (David) Whiteleather of Carrollton, Mary (Paul) Carr of Malvern, Virginia Haas of Massillon and Joanne (William) Bower of East Sparta; a brother, Paul Bishop of Hyndman, PA; 16 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren and one great great great grandson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Charles Ritchey, whom she married Nov. 4, 1942, and who passed away March 2, 1998; five brothers, Marion, Ray, Kenneth, Donald and James Bishop; and two sisters, Catherine Williams and Margie Bishop.

Funeral services will be held Aug. 10 at 11 a.m. in Allmon-Dugger-Cotton Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Sanders officiating.  Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton.  Calling hours are Tuesday at the funeral home from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Ladies Auxiliary Service at 6:45 p.m.
