Paul Elden Guess
Paul Elden Guess, 80, of Countryside Dr., Carrollton, died Tuesday evening, July 23, 2013, in his home.
Born Jan. 30, 1933, in Carrollton, he was the son of the late Theodore and Florence Staley Guess.
Paul was a businessman, developer and avid promoter of Carrollton. He owned and operated Guess Motors in Carrollton along with Carrollton Ponderosa Restaurant. He was a developer of homes in the village of Carrollton, as well as an original investor in Days Inn Hotel of Carrollton.
He served in the United States Air Force. Paul was a member of Church of Christ Christian Disciples of Carrollton where he served as an elder, Carroll County Chamber of Commerce, Carrollton Rotary and Carrollton Kiwanis. He was a member of the National Association of Auto Dealers and Early Ford V-8 Club.
He is survived by his wife, the former Vivian Simmons; a son, Mike (Jean) Guess of Carrollton; a daughter, Kathy (Scott) Carson of Canton; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and one sister, Shirley (Charles) James of Carrollton.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 27 at 11 a.m. in Church of Christ Christian Disciples, Moody Ave., Carrollton, with Rev. Mike Doak officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton. Visitation will be Friday evening from 4-8 p.m. in the church.

Paul's services were under the care and guidance of Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton.
