Carl Johnson Jr.

Carl Johnson Jr., 81, of Carrollton died Thursday morning June 25, 2009, at Aultman Hospital in Canton.

Born June 5, 1928, in New Athens, he was a son of the late Carl and Margaret Easthom Johnson Sr.

He was a member of the Kilgore United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by his wife, the former Barbara Slates, whom he married Sept. 5, 1953; one son, Troy C. (Shannon) Johnson of Massillon; three daughters, Brenda Stone of Massillon, Tierney (Thomas) Breckenridge and Kristi Wallen, both of Canton; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three sisters, Honnie Smith and Elizabeth Deaton, both of New Athens, and Shirley Kohl of Cuyahoga Falls.

Along with his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at 7 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton.
