Dorothy Alloway

Dorothy Alloway, 90, of Liberty St., Amsterdam died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, in Lancia Villa Nursing Home in Steubenville.

Born Oct. 15, 1918, in Amsterdam she was the daughter of the late Wilfred and Jane McLaughlin Catterall.

She was a member of the United Church of Amsterdam and Amsterdam VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by two sons, Raymond (Pat) Alloway and Thomas (Katheryn) Alloway, both of Amsterdam; a daughter, Carol Morgan of Amsterdam; a sister, Sarah Christy of Hudson, FL; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert "Howard" Alloway who died June 25, 2004; three brothers and one sister.
Funeral services were held May 30 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam. Burial followed in Bergholz Cemetery.
