Lula E. Rose Carson
Lula E. Rose Carson, 89, of Jones Ave., Carrollton died Sunday, May 30, 2010, in her home.
Born Oct. 15, 1920, in Hammondsville, she was a daughter of the late Floyd and Hazel Allmon Rose.
She was a high school graduate and went on to Business College before working for the Agricultural Department. She was a member of United Presbyterian Grant Hill Church and lived all her life in the area. She loved to do needlework and enjoyed baking and cooking.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Kay (Rich) Dunlap of Salem and Verna (Pat) McGivern of Carrollton; a brother, Kenneth (Patty) Rose of Hammondsville; two sisters, Mary Wilkin of North Canton and Florence Coughen of East Liverpool; five grandchildren, Brenda Miller of Carrollton, Chris Rawlings of Hammondsville, Troy Rawlings of North Canton, Sam McGivern of Georgia and Corey McGivern of North Carolina and seven great grandchildren, Christina and Andrea Rawlings of East Liverpool, Tyler Rawlings of Hammondsville, Carson and Mark Miller of Carrollton and Abigail and Olivia McGivern of Georgia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Carson, Aug. 23, 2009, and a sister, Doris Cusick.
Funeral services were held June 2 at Kerr-Pastore-Weber Funeral Home in Salineville with Mary Ann Frischkorn and Pastor Pat Smith officiating. Burial was in Chestnut Grove Cemetery in Hammondsville. On-line condolences may be sent by visiting www.kpwfh.com.
