Thompson J. Hanna
Thompson J. Hanna age 93, of Folsom Rd., Carrollton, died Thursday morning, May 3, 2012, in Affinity Hospital at Massillon.
Born May 8, 1918, in New Castle, PA, he was the son of the late John and Laura Stitt Hanna.
He was a retired industrial painter who worked with the Painters Local 603 in Canton. A WWII Army veteran of the South Pacific, he was a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife, the former Betty Zintsmaster; two sons, Thompson "Tom" (Donna) Hanna of Carrollton, and Clifford (Linda) Hanna of Hildebran, NC; three daughters, Susan (Dan) James of Flagler Beach, FL, Rebecca (Dan) Hartshorne of Malvern, and Terri (Dick) Hartshorne of Canton; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons; four sisters; and 10 brothers.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 7 at 1 p.m. in Baxter's Ridge Church near Carrollton with Rev. Richard Wallace, Sr. officiating.
Burial will follow with full military honors in the Baxter's Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon until service time.
