Dudley D. Carpenter

Dudley D. Carpenter, 71, of Amsterdam passed away unexpectedly Sunday afternoon, May 1, 2011, at his home.

Born Sept. 9, 1939, in Kincheloe, WV, he was a son of the late John Andrew and Jenny Ashcraft Carpenter.

He was a member of Amsterdam VFW and a lifetime member of the NRA.

He is survived by his wife, the former Wona Davis, whom he married Jan. 3, 1959; three sons, Randy, Brian and Shane Carpenter; two daughters, Annette Gamble and Sharon Whitman; 18 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

In accordance with Dudley's wishes he was cremated and private services will be held. Arrangements were handled by Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home in Amsterdam.
