Edward L Cartwright Sr

Edward L Cartwright Sr., age 62, passed away March 13, 2009.
Born 6 Jan. 1947, in Wheeling, WV, he was a son of Harold and Dorothy Virginia Cartwright.

He served in the Navy in Vietnam , worked on the Conrail Railroad and was a life long carpenter and cabinetmaker.

He is survived by his wife Donita of the home; three sons, Brett Terry, Leland (Kelly) Terry and Edward (Alexandra) Cartwright II, all of Great Bend, KS; one daughter, Lucille (William) Nasworthy of Jacksonville , FL; three grandsons, Joseph and Joshua Nasworthy, both of Jacksonville, FL. and Nicholas Cartwright of Great Bend, KS; three granddaughters, Jenifer Nasworthy of Jacksonville, FL, Lily (Chance) Richards and Lacy (Kevin) Richardson, both of Great Bend , KS; three great grandsons; two great granddaughters;  one sister, Dorothy (Clifford) Grimm of Harlem Springs; a sister-in-law, Donna (Kenneth) Steinert  of Great Bend, KS; brother-in-law Leroy (Deloris) Sarver of Forsyth, MO; one brother, David (Mary) Cartwright of New Philadelphia and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Dorothy Cartwright, a sister, Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Brown and two brothers John Louis Cartwright and William Harold Cartwright.

Funeral services will be Friday, March 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Amsterdam with Rev. John Grimm officiating. Burial will follow in the Harlem Springs Cemetery with full military honors by the VFW, DAV, and American Legion. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 6-8 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Harsh Memorial United Methodist Church, 3167 Apollo Rd. SE, Carrollton, OH 44615.
