George "Bucky" Kiefner

George "Bucky" Kiefner, 90, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home surrounded by his family.

Bucky was born Jan. 23, 1920 in Pittsburgh, PA.

He retired from Duquesne Light in 1982 after 40 years of service and worked at Carroll Hills in Carrollton. He was a veteran of World War II.  Bucky was loved and cherished by all who knew him. He had a heart of gold and was thoughtful to others and a true gentleman. His smile never faltered and he shared it with all. He enjoyed playing poker with his friends on Saturday nights.

Bucky is survived by one son, Michael Kiefner of Pittsburgh; one grandson, Charles O'Donnell; three granddaughters, Cindy (Eric) Hanson; and great grandsons, Jeffrey and Robbie. He's also survived by his companion who he cherished and loved dearly, Virginia S. Mohr, and her children whom he considered his own, Tom (Jeannine) Hug, Deborah Hug, William Hug and his fiancé Kathy Kail; and grandchildren, Christina Mutigli, Steven Hug, and Kyle Hug.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris; his daughter, Diane; two sisters, and one brother.

At Bucky's request he was cremated and a private service will be held at a later date.   Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton was in charge of arrangements.
