Ronald Malone Bentley
Ronald Malone Bentley, age 66, of Lynn Rd. Minerva (Pattersonville) passed away Thursday March 3, 2011, of an extended illness in Aultman Hospital.
Born Sept. 8, 1944, in Landville, WV, he was a son to the late Pat and Goldie (Dempsey) Bentley. He was a 37 year resident of Pattersonville where he raised four children. Ron worked as a supervisor at The Timken Company Steel Unit for 30 years, retiring in 1998. He served as Adult Sunday School and Mid-week Bible Class Teacher for a number of years at Waynesburg Freewill Baptist Church and was an active member of Augusta Masonic Lodge #504 F&AM as well as being appointed a District Deputy Grand Master of the 24th Masonic District of the Grand Lodge of Ohio. He was a US Marine veteran of the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy (Toler) Bentley; two daughters, Rona (Michael) Lozier and Robin (Richard) Brown, both of Augusta, two sons, Ronald (Teresa) Bentley II of Carrollton and R. Jason (Amy) Bentley of Pattersonville; a sister, Constance Bentley of Copeland Oaks, Sebring; three brothers, Patrick (Carol) Bentley of New Harrisburg, Preston (Paula) Bentley of Robertsville, and Michael Bentley of Carrollton; eight grandchildren, three step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and stepmother, Helen Bentley of Louisville.
Funeral services will be Monday, March 7 at 11 a.m. in Freewill Baptist Church in Waynesburg with Rev. Raymond Stanley officiating. Burial with full military services will be in Augusta Cemetery.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with Masonic Services at 5:45 p.m. in Gotschall-Hutchison Funeral Home in Minerva. Memorial contributions may be made to the Freewill Baptist Church food pantry or the Ohio Special Olympics through the Augusta Masonic Lodge. |
