Jeannie Kovalesky, 92, of Amsterdam passed away Friday, March 1, 2013, in her home.
Born May 17, 1920, in Amsterdam, she was a daughter of the late Stanslaus and Anna Karaban Kuzzyna (Kuryn).
Jennie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Kovalesky, Nov. 3, 1994; three brothers, Ed, Joe, and Barney Kuryn; and two sisters, Helen Caskey and Stella Scopel.
Jennie was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amsterdam and the Polish National Alliance.
She is survived by her caregivers; great niece, Jan (Bob) Morley; great great nephew, Thomas (Rebecca) Mikesell Jr.; great nieces, Michele Lineberry and Joelle (Scott) Moran; a very large extended family and a very special great great great neice, Lauren Mikesell.
Mass of Christian burial will be Tuesday, March 5 at 11:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amsterdam with Fr. John McCoy officiating. Burial will follow in Bergholz Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home and one hour prior to Mass in the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes donations be made in Jennie's name to Charity Hospice, 500 Luray Drive, Steubenville, OH 43952.
