John W. Helfrich

John W. Helfrich, 89, of Sherman Oaks, CA, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2012, at 10:45 p.m. at his home.

Born June 3, 1922, in Carrollton, OH, he was the only son of the late Charles E. and Lois A. Helfrich.

He was a Carrollton High School graduate, Class of 1940, a graduate of the College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA, and a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. 

John retired from the Hoover Company in 1985, as the western regional administrative manager in Torrance, CA.  He had resided in Sherman Oaks since 1957.

He enjoyed traveling, gardening, reading, and visiting with family and friends.

He is survived by his life partner of 40 years, Warren K. Takeda of Sherman Oaks, CA; a sister, Loisann H. Goodall of Alliance; three nieces, Donna Cully, Janis E. Goodall, and Wendy K. Rhoads; two nephews, Charles D. Goodall and James D. Rhoads; two great nieces; a great nephew; one great great nephew and a cousin.

Burial arrangements were conducted by Neptune Cremation Society of Los Angeles, CA.
