Francis J. (Frank) Rothbauer

Francis J. (Frank) Rothbauer, 83, of N. Lisbon St., Carrollton, died Thursday morning, Feb. 17, 2011, in Mercy Medical Center at Canton.

Born Nov. 19, 1927, in Youngstown, he was a son of the late Francis and Theresa Kampert Rothbauer. 

He was an Army veteran serving from 1946 -1948.  He later became a Catholic priest after studying at St. John Vieanna in Bloomingdale.  He retired from St. Joseph Parish in Amsterdam in 1991.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Albert and William Rothbauer and a sister, Loretta Rothbauer.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amsterdam with Bishop R. Daniel Conlon officiating.  Burial will be in Harlem Springs Cemetery.  Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home at Amsterdam where Christian wake services will be held at 7:30 p.m.
