Arnold Salyers

Arnold Salyers, 94, of Carrollton passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010.

Born Dec. 15, 1915, in Grayson, KY, he was a son of the late Harry and Minnie Thompson Salyers.

He was a veteran of World War II and retired from the Timken Company.

He is survived by three brothers, Clarence (Marilyn) Salyers of Canton, James (Loretta) Salyers of Dayton and John Salyers of Mansfield; a sister-in-law, Nancy Salyers of Canton; his caregiver, Tracy Castle and numerous nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cledith and Dennis Salyers; and four sisters, Jenny Driver, Onia Adkins Royer, America Wilburn and Marie Allen.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, Feb. 11 at 11 a.m. in Forest Hills Cemetery in Canton with full military honors.  Visitation will be Wednesday evening 6-8 p.m. in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton.
