Henry Lee Tharp

Henry Lee Tharp, 89, of Antigua Rd., Carrollton died Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 19, 2011, in Golden Age Retreat at Carrollton.

Born Jan. 23, 1921, in Bellaire, he was the son of the late Harry Henry and Mae Hess Tharp.

He was a WWII Army veteran and a lifetime member of Jewett VFW.  He was a retired autoworker for Ford Motor Company in Canton.

He is survived by a son, Adrian (Rhonda) Tharp of Carrollton; three daughters, Brenda (James) Cline of Carrollton, Carole Miller of Jewett, and Sandy (Dave) Fredricks of Canton; 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Tilly, in 1988; a brother and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 22 in Sweeney-Dodds Funeral Home of Carrollton.  Burial will be in Westview Cemetery in Carrollton where full military services will be observed.  Visitation is Friday from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
