The air should be a little cooler in the County Recorder’s office this summer.
Carroll County Commissioners accepted a quote from Randalson Red Shed Heating and Air Conditioning of Amsterdam to install one two-ton and one two and one-half ton air conditioning units in windows in the second floor office of Recorder Pat Oyer.
Commissioner Bob Herron said three price quotes were obtained for the project and Randalson was the lowest with a price of $4,900.
"The office sits right over the boilers and we can’t turn the boilers off," Herron noted. That office has needed this for a long time."
In an unrelated matter, commissioners signed an application for the Help Me Grow grant (part 3) to be submitted to the Ohio Department of Health.
Health Commissioner Melanie Campbell, who prepared the application, noted the Health Department is the provider agency for the grant, which helps provided services for speech, hearing, mobility in children from birth to age three. Last year’s grant totaled $31,512.
Campbell noted the Carroll County Family and Children First administers the grant and the Health Department has submitted the successful proposal to administer the grant for several years. They have submitted a grant for the upcoming year as well.
