FPS staff report
February 26, 2013
The management team at the Carroll Columbiana Harrison Joint Solid Waste District is taking on a new look.
The district will no longer have an executive director and administrative assistant; there will be a director of administration, director of operations and administrative assistant following action taken by the board of directors Monday.
Director Chris Jacobs previously submitted his resignation, effective April 12, to accept another position. Jacobs started working for the district, whose office is located on Canton Rd., in Carrollton, in 1994 as a engineer and was named executive director in 2005.
The board, comprised of all three county commissioners from each county included in the district, met Monday in executive session to discuss replacing Jacobs.
They opted to utilize the talents of employees already on the payroll rather than do an outside search for a director.
Effective March 1, Barb Walton, who has served as the administrative assistant at the district since 2001, was named director of administration. Eric Matthews, who has been with the district since 2005 as an independent contractor and since 2011 as an employee, was named director of operations.
The board agreed to accept applications for an administrative assistant through March 6. |
