Pearson to speak at Veterans Day service

FPS staff report

Local veterans and veterans groups will observe Veterans Day with a dinner Nov. 8 and a brief service at Westview Cemetery Nov. 11.

The speaker for the dinner will be Michael Maiorca, a Vietnam veteran and retired Carrollton schools superintendent. All veterans as well as non-veterans are invited and encouraged to attend.

American Legion guests will be two boys who were selected to attend Buckeye Boys State and two girls who attended Buckeye Girls State last summer. Each of these students have been asked to speak about their experiences.

Following the dinner, entertainment will be provided by Kathy and Richard Small.

All veterans and all citizens are encouraged to gather at the Veterans Memorial at Westview Cemetery Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. for a brief service. The speaker will be Retired Marine Capt. Charles Pearson.
