Voters will see a variety of issues on the Nov. 6 election ballot.
They include a countywide tax levy, six village tax levies, five school issues, five township tax levies, two area fire district levies, a local option and an overlapping library tax levy.
Following is a listing of the levies, bond issues and the local option:
Countywide Levy
Carroll Hills program renewal of 1 mill for 10 years, which yields $425,000 in tax revenue annually.
Village Levies
Village of Carrollton – Current expenses, renewal of 1.2 mills for 5 years yielding $30,000 annually;
- Village of Dellroy – Current expenses, renewal of 2 mills for 5 years yielding $5,760 annually;
- Village of Magnolia – Current expenses, renewal of 3 miles for 5 years yielding $28,000 annually;
Village of Magnolia – Cemetery, renewal of .5-mill for 5 years yielding $4,821 annually;
Village of Magnolia – Current expenses, replacement of 2 mills for 5 years yielding $25,872 annually;
Village of Malvern – Police protection, additional 3.1 mills for 5 years yielding $41,700 annually;
Village of Amsterdam – recreation, .5-mill tax levy renewal for five years.
School Issues
Brown Local School District – Bond issue of 6.8-mills for 36 years yielding $17,152,577 for new schools and an additional .5-mill operating tax levy for a continuing period of time yielding $60,950 annually;
Conotton Valley Union Local School District – Operating deficit additional 9.96-mill tax levy for 10 years yielding $700,000 annually;
Minerva Local School District – Emergency requirements renewal of 5.1 mills for 10 years yielding $1.1 million annually.
Buckeye Joint Vocational School District Current expenses replacement levy of 1.8 mills for 10 years yielding $4,467,158 annually.
Edison Local School – current expenses, an additional 9.45-mills for a continuing period of time that would generate $3 million annually.
Township Levies
Augusta Township/ Minerva SD – Fire protection renewal levy of 1.1 mills for 5 years yielding $6,000 annually;
Center Township – Operating expenses renewal of .5-mill for 5 years yielding $25,600 annually;
Harrison Township – Roads, additional 1.5-mills for 5 years yielding $72,200 annually;
Loudon Township – Roads, additional 2 mills for 5 years yielding $35,800 annually;
Washington Township – Roads additional 3 mills for 5 years yielding $75,000 annually.
Fire District Levies
Great Trail Joint Fire District – Fire protection additiona 2 mills for 5 years yielding $258,000 annually;
- Sandy Creek Joint Fire District – General operating expenses additional 4 mills for 5 years yielding $715,000 annually.
Local Option
- Carrollton B Precinct – Discount Drug Mart Local Option for Sunday sales of wine and mixed beverages.
- Library Issue
- Stark County Library – Current expenses renewal and increase to 1.7 mills for 8 years yielding $8,073,110 annually. |
