Court appoints special prosecutor

FPS staff report

Atty. Stephen J. Kandel, a Canton attorney, has been appointed a Special Prosecuting Attorney in two separate cases in Carroll County on motions seeking a Special Prosecutor filed by Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney Donald R. Burns Jr.

In the first case, Atty. Kandel is to investigate a matter involving a public official and in the second case he was appointed on a motion of the Prosecutor. No other information was given in the separate journal entries filed Aug. 25 and 26 and approved by Common Pleas Court Judge Dominick E. Olivito Jr. However, the appointments reportedly involve two separate domestic violence cases.
