Food, fun on the menu at Ribs Burn Off

FPS staff report

Organizers are gearing up for the seventh annual Carroll county Rib Burn Off.

Jeanna Shaw, who is heading up the planning of the event, said the burn off will be held June 6 from noon until 11 p.m. at the Carroll County Fairgrounds.

Twelve rib burners are scheduled to compete for the title of “best ribs” this year. There will be a variety of other foods to choose from and lots of entertainment.

A classic car and motorcycle show begins at noon. Local D.J. Tom Spiker, “The Spikeman,” will host the show.

D.J. Jerry Tinlin will spin the tunes from noon until 5 p.m. A tractor pull begins at noon. Put on by Tri-State Puller, the following classes will be offered: Run What Ya Brung 4-wheel drive trucks, Antique V-8, Super Farm Smokers, Combo Class and Division 5.

The band New Wave Nation will provide musical entertainment beginning at 7 p.m.

Admission is $1 per person.
