Miss Mallory Ray, daughter of Gary and Vicki Ray of 356 Foxburry Dr., Carrollton, is Carrollton High School’s 2008 fall homecoming queen.
Miss Ray was crowned by Sara Sevek, a senior soccer player, during pre-game ceremonies Friday evening prior to the Carrollton-Minerva football game.
Members of the queen’s court are Brittany Moyer, daughter of Walt and Lisa Moyer of 5019 Raven Rd., Carrollton; Esther Reed, daughter of Dusty and Kimberly Reed of 234 Park Ave., Carrollton; Holly Noel Richards, daughter of Mike and Tonda Da Re of 527 Garfield Ave., Carrollton, and Brenda Snair, daughter of Mike and Dawn Snair of 5330 Steubenville Rd., Amsterdam.
During the crowning ceremonies, the queen and her court received flowers donated by the Suburban Garden Club from Lauren Cogan, representing the cross country team; a football designed by athletes of all fall sports teams and donated by the athletic department from Nick Torain; a trophy donated by the Student Council from Jon Power, representing the golf team, and a wooden tomahawk presented by Megan Hinton, a cheerleader.
The queen and her court also reigned at a homecoming dance held Saturday evening in the high school gym. Theme of the dance was “Tonight is the Night.”
At CHS, Miss Ray is a four-year member of the cheerleading squad and Student Council of which she is the current president. She is also a three-year member of the softball team and Academic Hall of Fame, a two-year member of the CHS Club and a one-year member of the National Honor Society.
Her future plans are to attend the Ohio State University and major in food science and nutrition. |
