Judge appoints special prosecutor

FPS staff report

Stark County Prosecuting Attorney Frank Forchione has been appointed as a special Prosecuting Attorney to investigate a case reportedly involving a public official.

The appointment, which gives full authority over the matter to Atty. Forchione, was made Monday by Carroll County Common Pleas Court Judge Dominick E. Olivito Jr. on a motion filed by Carroll County Prosecuting Attorney Donald R. Burns Jr.

When contacted Monday by The Free Press Standard, Prosecutor Burns said he could not comment on the matter.

Atty. Forchione told the FPS Monday he does not know what the case is about because he has not received any information.
