A sure sign of summer is the arrival of community homecomings.
The Malvern Fire Department will kick off the season with the annual Malvern Homecoming next week. The festival, held in Malvern Village Park, gets underway June 3 and runs through June 7.
The All American Scale Parade signals the official start of the homecoming. Lineup begins at 4 p.m. and the parade steps off at 6 p.m. Thursday’s stage entertainment will be a Guitar Hero contest and a disc jockey from 6-11 p.m., sponsored by Wood’s Grocery. LeBeau Geothermal Heating and Cooling will present a Dynamic Karaoke Contest Friday from 6-11 p.m. on the stage and Nashville recording artist Kelli Lynne will perform on the stage Saturday from 6-11 p.m., courtesy of Michael J. Hulit, DDS. Loudon Motors Ford is sponsoring a Corn Hole Tournament Sunday from 2-6 p.m. Registration is from 1-3 p.m.
Disc Jockey Doug James from radio station K-105 will spin the tunes Sunday from 2-6 p.m., courtesy of Advanced Auto Body. The festival closes Sunday at 7 p.m.
Amusement Rides, provided by Lisko Amusements Inc., will be open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 5-10 p.m., Saturday from noon until 10 p.m. and Sunday from noon until 6 p.m.
