The Carroll County Health District received a limited supply of H1N1 influenza vaccine Tuesday from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
The Ohio Department of Health (ODH) ordered its full allotment, including doses of the nasal vaccine and shots of the H1N1 vaccine Friday on behalf of The Carroll County Health Department. They will be offered to patients at upcoming immunization clinics for high-risk individuals.
“This is good news for our community, and more vaccine is needed,” said Health Commissioner Melanie Campbell. “If you are unable to find vaccine this week, please be patient. More doses are expected in the coming weeks.”
The Carroll County Health Department will hold several H1N1 influenza vaccination clinics at the health department on the following dates and times:
* Tuesday, Nov. 10, 8-11 am & 12:30-3:30 pm
* Thursday, Nov. 12, 8-11 am, 12:30-3:30 pm & 4:30-6:30 pm
* Friday, Nov. 13, 8-11 am & 12:30-3:30 pm
The vaccine is intended for high-risk individuals and will be available for pregnant women and children between the ages of 6 months and 35 months. These two groups will be the only ones to be vaccinated on these dates and times. As more vaccine arrives, additional clinics will be scheduled.
