County voters have a chance to shape politics on the township, county and state level at the Nov. 3 general election.
Carroll County Director of Elections Christine Vernier estimates that 55 percent, or 10,818 of the county’s 19,670 registered voters, will turn out to cast ballots.
Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and remain open until 7:30 p.m. at the county’s 26 voting locations.
The last day to cast absentee ballots in the Board of Elections office Monday, Nov. 2. Ballots can be cast until the office closes at 4 p.m. Domestic absentee ballots must be returned by 7:30 p.m. Nov. 3.
The only change in voting location is for the Malvern and Brown A and B precincts. Voters in these precincts will now cast their votes at the First Christian Church of Malvern, located at 4046 Coral Rd. NW, Malvern.
County voters will elect two trustees from each township, members to village offices and boards of education.
The only county-wide race on the ballot will be for Carroll County Municipal Court judge. Charles A. Johnston and Gary Willen are vying for the position.
Votes will also decide the fate of three statewide issues, two countywide issues as well as township, school and village levies.
The FPS will post results on www.freepressstandard.com as soon as they become available and provide complete coverage of the election in next week’s issue of the newspaper. |
