The ladies rule on this year’s 4-H Outstanding Court!
Members of the court were announced during the Project Exhibit Day awards program at the Carroll County Fairgrounds July 12 and all five are female. Members include: Ashley Evanich, Jordan Morsheiser, Paige Randal, Nicole Sheckler and Katlyn Vernier.
Evanich, 17, is the daughter of Rudy and Judie Evanich of Paris. She is a 10-year member of the Minerva K-9 Crew and Snoopy’s Friends 4-H Clubs. During her 10-years in 4-H, she has taken dog obedience and showmanship projects for eight years, clothing projects, vet science, creative arts and creative writing. She has represented Carroll County numerous times at the Ohio State Fair with her dogs where she has placed in the top 15 for five years and earned Ohio State Fair Grand Champion Dog in 2004. She has attended 4-H camp for nine years, Ohio 4-H Sea Camp in 2004 and has served as a camp counselor for four years. She has been news reporter, recreation leader, secretary, president and vice president of her local club. She is a member of the junior fair board and is a five-year honor member.
Morsheiser, 16, is the daughter of Dan and Julie Morsheiser of Carrollton. She is a nine-year member of the All American Kids and Teen Leaders 4-H Clubs. During her nine years in 4-H, she has taken food and nutrition projects, clothing, childcare, photography, furniture refinishing, dairy beef feeders and dairy projects. She has been an outstanding market exhibitor for beef for two years, has been in the top five for showmanship for four years and has received outstanding of the day with her cooking and photography projects. She has attended 4-H camp for five years as a camper and three years as a counselor. She has been recreation leader, news reporter, secretary, treasurer and president of her local club. She is currently vice president of the junior fairboard. She is an eight-year honor member.
Randal, 16, is the daughter of Tony and Christine Randal of Minerva. She is an eight-year member of Brown Frame Round-Up 4-H Club. During her eight years, she has taken rabbits, woodworking, furniture refinishing, fishing, food and nutrition, first aid, small engine and money management projects. She represented Carroll County at the Ohio State Fair in 2004. She has attended 4-H camp for five years as a camper and three years as a counselor.
She has been treasurer, vice president and president of her local club. She is a third year member of the junior fair board and has been in Teen Leaders for two years. She is a seven-year honor member.
Sheckler, 17, is the daughter of William and Sheryl Sheckler of Malvern. She is a nine-year member of Clover Kids 4-H Club. In her nine years in 4-H, she has taken numerous food and nutrition projects, childcare, creative arts, laundry, bicycle, photography, genealogy, clothing and home decorating. She has represented Carroll County at the Ohio State Fair several times and received an outstanding of the day in 2006 with her home decorating project. She is a four-year member of the junior fair board and Teen Leaders 4-H Club. She has served as president, vice president, treasurer and recreation officer for her local club. She is a nine-year honor member.
Katlyn Vernier, 16, is the daughter of Doug and Christine Vernier of East Rochester. She is a nine-year member of Clover Kids 4-H Club. During her nine years, she has taken numerous still projects including, creative arts, clothing, food and nutrition, childcare, home decorating, photography, furniture refinishing and self-determined. She has represented Carroll County at the Ohio State Fair several times where she earned an outstanding of the day in 2004 and 2006 in childcare. She has attended 4-H camp for six years as a camper and three years as a counselor. She is a three-year member of the junior fairboard and four year member of Teen Leaders 4-H Club. She has served as treasurer, vice president, president, treasurer and safety officer of her local club. She is a nine-year honor member.
Members of the court and their families were treated to dinner at Ponderosa of Carrollton following the presentation. |
